Scoredoom punishes you for getting high scores in slaughtermaps by saying your score "sucks"...

Over the last few months, the mods I have played classic doom games with have drastically changed... I used to play with complex doom + LCA and stuff... I then switched to HXRTC which was good but cheezy, then to guncaster which slowed down to a crawl, then back to HXRTC then finally to scoredoom. As much as I like scoredoom, for it's huge custom enemy count, new weapon fire modes and awesome powerups, a few things piss me off to no end about scoredoom...

Number 1 to understand this post you have to realize that I play 90% insane maps.. When I am not playing one it's rare... I enjoy such maps quite a bit.. I enjoy them because it's insanely hard to kill the hordes of hard enemies they throw at you, and being a good doom player, I find easier maps boring, so I need a challenge, so randomly generating insane maps is something I do a lot to fully enjoy doom.

Scoredoom has issues that need to be fixed/patched/gotten the fuck rid of at the worst. The more bearable of this issues are tolerable, but the worst are absolutely not fucking needed. The tolerable issues include crashing bugs, mega use of insta-kill enemies, and hexen and heretic enemies showing up in doom... All of those are tolerable because they don't absolutely ruin the experience of scoredoom.

But the idiot author of scoredoom, BilboHicks, just had to put this STUPID FEATURE in scoredeoom... You see, doom games have a stupid lump in them that says "sucks"...  It's normally placed besides the time when you spend an hour or more beating a map like a slowpoke... I personally have never liked this stupid feature but at least you actually had to suck at the game for it to show up..

But BilboSucks had to change this feature to punish people who liked playing insane maps with scoredoom. See in scoredoom, this "Sucks" message shows up besides your score if it gets too high... In normal doom maps you get maybe 30,000-50,000 points per level. That's because you are fighting a few hundred weak enemies at most, and 10-15 hard ones per level. But in insane maps you are fighting 200-1500 hard enemies and get way higher scores due to this. BilboSucks wasn't content with this because he is clearly a member of the idiot doom community that hates slaughtermaps. He has to be because once your score goes above 120,000 (which often happens in slaughtermap episodes!) it says your score Sucks... Don't believe me? Look at this screenshot:

This is from a randomly generated mapset that was like hell revealed in difficulty...
In the level I even got more than 90% kills and 100% secrets yet my score still "sucked" WTF! I even beat the map WAY under the randomly genned par which is insanely high... I beat the map in record time for me and still the score sucks? WTF! BilboHicks this is fucking stupid!

I don't know why the fuck BilboSucks had to put this in scoredoom. It punishes slaughtermap fans... It needs to removed. Your score doesn't SUCK if you play slaughtermaps! That's fucking dumb....

The Ultimate Hell Revealed Pack gets totally Revamped...

I've been working hard over the last 2 days, working on revamped versions of the hell revealed pack wads.... Due to this, the originals were scrapped and never released. I had issues running the hell revealed pack wads in scoredoom, and due to this the new ones were created using a batch file system to generate megawads from randomly generated mapsets...  The old ones were built from scratch using zip files containing new enemies and textures, and were renamed to .wad files after the randomly generated mapsets were loaded into the zips...

The ultimate hell revealed pack is a randomly generated set of Hell Revealed Tribute wads I have been working on for a few months.... I am a huge fan of slaughtermaps for doom 2 and I play tandomly genned ones in Scoredoom quite often.... I made these because hell revealed to me is the first true slaughtermap megawad made for doom games and a pioneer of the gameplay style that so far has only been seen in doom games...

The new system has some advantages. The big one is scoredoom compatibility. Other advantages is that the wads are no longer zdoom only.... The disadvantages are minor, only 1 theme per wad rather than 3 now... That's a minor issue at best...

The new wads are made and I am working on testing them to see if they are hard enough for me... That's all I care about. Don't want these to be easy... In map1-11 tests of the new hr4,5 and hr666 that I did today, they were quite difficult, with me dying quite often in them, even on easy. That's more of a sign of my lack of competence at doom than a sign they are too hard (I suck at maps like these, I just like to play them, don't ask why)...

Here are some screenshots I took during my tests...

Hr666 Revamp:

I will keep on testing these new wads over the next few months While I have time... When I get past the first 11 map of each wad, the scoredoom portion of the test begins, where I play map12-30 in scoredoom to see if it runs well.... If it fails I run the first map that screws up in normal doom...

More info will come later people...
